Quantum Learning :)

Assalamualaikum!

I just love the expression, the salute, the greeting. May salam be upon you. What’s more honourable a greeting than wishing his companion for peace, safety, prosperity and a lot more positive meanings conveyed by the Arabic word salam? Ain’t Islam just so beautiful? I love Islam, I’m proud to be a Muslim and I’m honoured to be one. Alhamdulillah for making me a Muslim!

I blurted out in my last post that I had so many things to do these days. Well, busy people, as Alif said. A popular saying among us, If you are not busy, you are not living. SPM is approaching. Umana’ is degrading. Club work is piling. What can I do about it other than facing all of it as a syabab— which are, based on Abrar’s trademark, full of colour, full of potential!

Actually in this post I wanna talk about the programme “we all” planned—the Quantum Learning programme a.k.a. “Bengkel 12A SPM”. To summarise it, quoting the Principal, overall rating of the programme is a “B”. The content of the programme itself is okay, but the management and participation is bad … really bad. Not “really” lah, it’s a “B” kind of bad.

I just love the programme. I love all the slots from the lecture on Introduction to Human Brain by Sir Abdul Latif, Mind Mapping by Teacher Nailah, Memory Techniques by Cikgu Abdullah Thaidi, Brain Gym by Teacher Siti Ramlah to Time Management by Ustaz Adni. Learning is fun, that one I know; but I never knew that it could be this fun! In addition, I never knew facts would be this easy to memorise! Yeah!

In conclusion, I seriously recommend this programme should you ever have the opportunity to take it, regardless whether you’re a primary schooler or university student. It changes the way you study. It shapes your way of study closer to how the brain works—closer to fitrah. If you observe and do some research, you’ll find out that brain-based learning is what Islam promotes. Reciting the Qur’an utilises our right brain while understanding the Qur'an utilises our left brain. There are a lot of instances instructing men to visualise events throughout the Qur’an. The Qur’an practises vivid imagery through the beautiful use of words. QL advocates say that rhyme and music enhance memorisation— doesn’t Islam practises this since one and a half millenium ago?

Al-Qur’an—the most memorised book in the world. Think about it.

Wassalam.
